WALTON COUNTY, Fla. - A Rosemary Beach man was killed in an early morning traffic crash Tuesday.
The Florida Highway Patrol wrote in a news release that Brennen Johns, 21, of Rosemary Beach was driving a 2014 Honda Civic east on Highway 98 near Marie Drive when he attempted a lane change near a Dodge Durango at a high rate of speed.
The right front of Civic struck the rear left of the Durango which caused the Civic to slide, rotate and overturn. The rotated and struck the guardrail, troopers wrote.
Johns suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the Durango, Jerry Peace II, 33, of Panama City Beach had no injuries. Johns passenger, 52-year-old Gregory Johns of Panama City, suffered minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
