PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The debate of the redevelopment of the Panama City Marina continues to be a hot topic among citizens.
About 40 members of the community met to discuss their next strategy for changing the development of the marina. Save the marina organizers say they are concerned that the current development will be overbuilt and too dense for the area.
The group had tried to peacefully get a commissioner to take their side on this issue but say they were unsuccessful. Now it's on to the next phase, the group plans to develop a social media plan and spread the word even more as a group about what they say should happen to the marina.
"We have been put in the bad light being nay-sayers. We're not nay-sayers and almost to the man or the woman that speaks in front of the city commission, we've said that. We've said we're not against development we just want the proper development that will fit into the Panama City aura and the Panama City world that we live in," said Panama City Resident, Thelma Rohan.
The group plans to meet next after the commission meeting on October 24th.
