With November elections inching closer, local candidates are doing everything they can to win your vote.
Republican Tax Collector candidate Chuck Perdue picked-up an endorsement Monday from former Bay County Clerk of Courts, Harold Bazzel.
“When I met chuck, I was so excited. He's very, very sharp and he's got a vision for the office,” said Bazzel.
Bazzel said he believes Perdue is has the potential to bring positive change to the Tax Collector's office.
Perdue is hoping to replace Peggy Brannon, who is retiring after 24 years in the position.
"Five years ago I sat down at the office with my son for about two hours and as a businessman I recognize that the processes were broken and that the systems were antiquated and I just know there's a better way to do it, and I want to be more respectful of people's time,” said Perdue.
Perdue is running against Democrat Amy Baker, who Brannon endorsed in July.
