PCBPD Searching for Three Men in Murder

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Panama City Beach police are looking for three men in-connection with Sunday night's murder of Ples Robinson, 27, of Panama City.

Witnesses told police they saw people fighting in the parking lot of Rock'it Lanes in the Shoppes at Egdewater then heard several gunshots. Investigators are hoping the three men will provide more answers, like a motive.

Officers responded to the shopping center around 9:00 p.m. to find a crowd standing over Robinson. He was lying in parking lot with at least three gunshot wounds.

Paramedics rushed Robinson to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officers continued their search Monday for three 'persons of interest.' The men are identified Diontez Mccoy, 24, Jeffery Murray, 28 and Tyree Maddox, 14, all from Panama City.

"Door to door, good 'ole police work, knocking on doors trying to get someone to talk to us," Chief Drew Whitman said.  "They're locals. This has apparently been going on for awhile, and that's what we're trying to find out, what caused the shooting last night."

Investigators believe the suspects drove to the scene in one car but that someone else picked them up in a different car. They don't have a good description of that getaway vehicle, because of conflicting witnesses statements.

"We had a lot of people there, but unfortunately a lot of people didn't want to tell us what they saw or what they heard, and that's typical in these kind of cases," Whitman said.

Police said the men are only persons of interest at this time and have not been charged. If you know where they are, please call beach police at (850) 233-5000 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.

"It's a slow process, but we will put someone in jail," Whitman said.
