A Panama City Beach woman is in jail after she allegedly tried to run over Panama City Beach police officer and lead them on a high-speed chase.

Jennifer Nicole Gibb, 24, of Panama City Beach, is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony criminal mischief, fleeing and attempting to elude, DUI and driving with a revoked driver's license.

Beach police officials said in a news release that officers confronted Gibb during a traffic stop. Gibb refused to identify herself, locked herself in her vehicle, shouted that she had a gun and requested that the officers shoot her.

She then took off at a high rate of speed forcing officers to "take evasive action" so that they were not struck by her 2014 Chevrolet Camaro.

Officers pursued her and disabled her vehicle with spike strips on Holly Avenue.

Along with her current charges Gibb may face additional charges from the Bay County Sheriff's Office, officials said, as they assisted in the incident.
