Panama City Woman Accused of Assaulting Officers, Making False Allegation

Panama City, Fla. - A Panama City woman was arrested twice since Saturday.

The first incident happened in Mexico Beach Saturday night as 21-year-old Breanna Godwin was being arrested for driving under the influence. During the arrest Godwin kicked a Mexico Beach officer in the face and kicked another officer in the leg, officers wrote in an arrest affidavit.

Godwin was arrested again Monday, this time by the Bay County Sheriff's Office. Deputies wrote in her arrest report that Godwin accused her boyfriend of domestic battery. Deputies noted that Godwin had two black eyes and bruise on her forehead.

Godwin claimed that the bruise on her forehead was from her arrest in Mexico Beach but the black eyes and swelling of her nose were caused after her boyfriend punched her.

However, after speaking with the boyfriend, Godwin's parents and reviewing her text messages deputies determined that Godwin was lying, they wrote.

She was charged with perjury and making a false report of a crime.
