Panama City Man Charged with Armed Burglary

Panama City, Fla. - A local man was charged with multiple armed burglaries last week


On February 1 Bay County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residential burglary on Howard Road in Panama City.


"Later the same day, a credit card stolen during the burglary was used at a gas station in Callaway," deputies wrote in a news release. "Video was obtained by investigators, but the male suspect's identity remained unknown."


On Friday a hair salon on Tyndall Parkway was burglarized. About $700 dollars in hair products and cash were stolen.


This time surveillance video showed a maroon minivan on the backside of the business during the same time frame of the burglary. Later the same day, another residential burglary on Howard Road took place.


Investigators canvassed the area and were able to place a maroon minivan in the area during the time frame of the burglary.


Further investigation revealed the minivan was registered to a Corey Gaddy,  39, of Howard Road. Once a photo was obtained of Gaddy, investigators realized he was the same suspect in the video using a stolen credit card at the gas station in Callaway on February 1, 2018, deputies wrote.


When deputies found Gaddey he confessed, deputies said. All of the stolen items were recovered, they added.


Gaddy was arrested and charged with two counts of armed burglary, burglary, four counts of dealing in stolen property, two counts of false verification of ownership to a pawnbroker, and fraudulent use of a credit card.
