Panama City Beach Man Entertains Neighbohood with Halloween Light Show

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Jack O'Lanterns, spider webs, and grave yards are all decorations that many people choose to put outside their house for Halloween. But one house in Panama City Beach took their decorations to a whole new level.

Inside Bill Porters house are far too many cords, lights and tools to count.

"LED's and things that light up have always been my hobby," said Bill Porter.

But outside is where the chaos comes together into a masterpiece.

"When we bought a house I finally had the opportunity to decorate it for Christmas and Halloween," said Porter.

Porter is an electrical engineer at the Navy Base.

"So to me the house is just another canvas I get to paint with and go crazy with lights," said Porter.

Every year at Christmas and Halloween, he programs and wires a 10-minute light show set to three different holiday songs.

"It's computer controlled. There is a computer in my garage that actually runs the entire show, you can hear the audio on an FM radio, so you can use the radio in the car that way my neighbors aren't driven crazy," said Porter.

His house is nearly impossible to miss. Cars line up every night to get a glimpse at the show.

"It's a year long planning effort and then it will start being built in the yard about a month out before Halloween," said Porter.

Now, it's a neighborhood tradition. His next project will be Christmas.

The show runs from 7-9pm on week nights and 7-10pm on weekends.

His address is 309 Brynn Court in Panama City Beach.

You can still catch a show on Monday but his neighborhood closes on Halloween.
