Panama City and Lynn Haven Light Their Annual Christmas Trees

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Now that it is December, tis' the season to get ready for the holidays!
Friday night Panama City and Lynn Haven both performed an annual tradition by lighting their city Christmas trees.

Bay High School's marching band set the stage for the annual tree lighting in front of city hall in Panama City for their tree lighting ceremoney that started at 5:45 p.m.

Over in Lynn Haven at Sheffield Park, students from Lynn Haven and Deer Point elementary schools sang Christmas songs while the crowd waited for the Christmas tree to be lit.

"I think it's great for everyone to come together and celebrate and unite as one community should," said Marissa Conley.

Santa and Mrs. Clause made a special appearance but there was fun for all ages. Besides the festivities, people could also check out the newly renovated park.

"The most wonderful thing about the park is that it's all been done with grant funding and so people are enjoying all the new amenities and we are definitely in holiday mode in Lynn Haven tonight!" said mayor Margo Anderson.

The festivities continue Saturday as Lynn Haven hosts a Christmas parade at 10 a.m. down Florida Avenue. Panama City hosts the annual Jaycees parade Saturday night at 6:45 p.m. down Harrison Avenue.
