ONE on ONE with Dr. Alveda King

BAY COUNTY, Fl - Dr. Alveda King is the niece of the late civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. But she is an activist, evangelist, former elected leader and author in her own right. Dr. King is in Panama City this week as the keynote speaker for "Catholic In America", a local television program based out of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Panama City. Her message is one of positivity and pro life. As a young woman, Dr. King had two abortions. Now she shares her story, hoping to reach others who may face similar challenges. "Now, I am living a life of victory and I would like to share that with everyone" In the early 80's, King was an elected member of the Georgia State Legislature. While she continues to follow politics, she said she leans more now on prayer. "I believe it is very important to express our faith all over America now," King said. "People are really losing friendship over the elections, so I believe my uncle said that, Martin Luther King said, we must learn to live together as brothers, and I add, as sisters or perish as fools " King said. "So rather than losing friendships and breaking up relationships, I believe we could kinda just pray that America will come on line and be a blessing to the people who live here".
