PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - One man is dead after an officer involved shooting in Panama City Beach.

Police say they got a call in a residential area about a suspicious person around 11 p.m. Police say when they arrived on scene, the suspect was "hostile" and shots were fired between two officers and the suspect.

Police then pursued the suspect to the parking lot of the Y Shopping Center which includes CVS and Winn Dixie on Front Beach Road where more gunfire was exchanged. The suspect was shot and pronounced dead on scene. Neither of the officers were injured.

The Panama City Beach Police are working with the Bay County Sheriff's Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate. Officials say they are not looking for any more suspects in connection with the incident.

Both officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, which is protocol for officer involved shootings.
