One Dead, Another Shot in Jackson County Shooting

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. - The Jackson County Sheriffs Office are investigating a man's death after they said he shot a woman around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
"She was actually shot in the head," confirmed JCSO Capt. Scott Edwards.
For several hours JSCO deputies and the FDLE were at the scene near two mobile homes on Highway 2, a couple miles East of Campbellton.
The woman was immediately rushed to the hospital.
"The female that is at the Dothan hospital...her injuries at this point is non life threatening,' said Edwards.
Upon arrival deputies found the man who is believed to be the shooter lying on the ground outside the mobile homes.
"It appears that he does have some trauma to the head, at this time we can't determine if it's blunt trauma with an object or if it's a gunshot," said Edwards.
Authorities said they're still unclear on what caused his death.
Relatives of the victim were standing outside searching for answers as well.
"FDLE, the medical examiner's office is here currently, and hopefully we'll have some better answers as to what transpired with the deceased here," said Edwards.
The names of the man and woman have not yet been released.
Authorities also said the man was not a resident where the shooting took place.

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting in Jackson County.

Sheriff Lou Roberts said the incident happened at a gathering on Highway 2 about two miles east of Cambellton Tuesday afternoon. 

A man shot a woman and then he was killed. Roberts said the woman was shot in the head and was rushed to a hospital. Roberts said it is unclear how the shooter was killed.

The incident is under investigation and we expect to have more information as it becomes available.
