Okaloosa Sex Offender Gets 30 Years

Okaloosa County, Fla. - An Okaloosa County man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday after being convicted of lewd and lascivious battery and sexual battery.

Prosecutors say Larry Thorne abused a girl from the time she was 14 until she was 17. At that point the victim, "disclosed the abuse to a pastor at the church she began attending after she had been able to distance herself from the defendant," prosecutors wrote in a news release.

Two earlier victims said also testified saying they were subject to the same pattern of abuse when they were in their teens.

Thorne was sentenced to 30 years in prison and designated as a sexual offender. The Sexual Offender designation will require Thorne to register as such for the remainder of his life.
