Franklin County officials are calling off the search for the night for a missing swimmer near St. George Island.
The search has been temporarily called off for the night due to darkness and will start back Monday morning.
Sheriff's officials say the missing swimmer is a 30 year old man from Georgia who was here on vacation with family, but his name has not yet been released.
They believe the man went into the water after one of his family members was struggling in the water. That person was able to make it back to shore safely.
Officials say the coast guard will join the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, St. George Island Fire and Rescue to help search for the missing swimmer.
