PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The 14th Judicial Circuit has a new judge.
Governor Rick Scott announced Friday that he had appointed Ana Maria Garcia to the bench.
Garcia, 39, of Marianna, is currently the Jackson County Chief Assistant State Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.
Previously, she was in private practice with Carlton Fields, P.A., and with Moye, O’Brien, Pickert, and Dillon, LLP, officials wrote in a news release.
Garcia received a bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Florida. Garcia will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge William Wright.
