New Housing Development in 30a Breaks Ground

New Housing Development in 30a Breaks Ground

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. - The newest housing development in 30a sits between the Watersound Beach Club and the Watersound Beach Community.

It is called, grace point.

Thursday, gold tipped shovels dug into the sand on the grace point property, for the groundbreaking ceremony.

Those involved in the development of grace point said they hope it brings job opportunities to the area.

"We think that grace point is going to be a great opportunity as a development to bring residential construction jobs to the area," said Hilary Farnum, Beachy Beach Real Estate broker/owner. "We are going to have forty homes that we are constructing so there's going to be a lot of opportunity in the local area for that."

Developers said grace point is the last sliver of undeveloped land on 30a, but they have big plans to change that.

"We're going to have about ten thousand square feet of commercial space at the entrance of the community that's going to bring shops, high end restaurants and things like that, that will definitely create quite a few jobs actually over the next eighteen to twenty four months," Farnum said.

The commercial aspect of the Grace Point community will be the third phase of development.

Grace Point is partnering with St. Joe and Prominence beach clubs as well as The Hub and The Hub shops to see what type of businesses will do best in their development.

"With the density that's been built here, there's a gap in terms of the retail offering that's available so we want to make sure that we work with our neighbors and provide a commercial experience that's going to compliment and not compete," said Jason Benedict, Grace Point Developer.

Benedict said the goal is to have the entire development complete in the next two and a half years.

Grace point is laid out to have 44 home sites.

Development of the community will be done in three phases.

Benedict said phase one is moving along nicely, with 13 of 28 homes already sold.
