Mentors Honored at Lucille Moore Elementary School

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - With January coming to an end so is mentor appreciation month. Friday at Lucille Moore Elementary School, Elevate Bay Mentors, business partners and volunteers were recognized for their impact they've made on elementary school students. 

Students dressed for success and welcomed the attendees at the door. Other students prepared speeches to thank their mentor. The audience also listened to a choir perform songs about mentors and role models. The students gave out hand made thank you cards.

"In elementary grades there are so many things going on in their lives and as they are growing and developing they bring challenges from home and have hormones going on and when you have that one person you can sit and talk to that will listen and not only just help you academically but also socially, then there is nothing better," said Lucille Moore Principal Lisa Jones.
