Men Involved in Owen Frazier's Death Receive Sentencing

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Claude Cook, Datrion Hand and Marcus Larry were all sentenced Monday morning in reference to the killing of 20-year-old Owen Frazier.

Owen Frazier's mother spoke just a few feet away from her son's killer. Monday morning was no doubt an emotional day for the Frazier family as the three men.. Cook, Hand and Larry, faced the consequences of their actions.

Claude Cook was adjudicated guilty of the three counts to which he plead. Charges were second degree murder with a firearm, attempted robbery with a firearm, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a firearm.

Cook, the man who actually shot and killed Frazier took a plea to avoid being indicted by and grand jury and having to face a mandatory life sentence. Cook faces 50 years in prison but because he was a juvenile when he committed the crime he is entitled to a review at 25 years, a review that could mean a potential early release.

As for his counterparts, Datrion Hand and Marcus Larry, they were also sentenced Monday morning and faced reduced sentences due to a plea agreement they entered back in may.

Hand faces 10 years in prison while Larry faces 12 years. With prison sentences for all three men this case is now closed. Hand and Cook have requested to serve their time at the Bay Correctional Facility but that request has yet to be approved.
