The Lynn Haven Heritage Society invited the community over to check out the ongoing renovations to Bay County's first public library. The McMullin Library was moved this summer to its permanent home near Lynn Haven Elementary School.

The society is restoring the historic building and plans to open it as the city's welcome center. They are currently working to get sewer and water set up. Project officer Richard Walker says the project will help aid future development of the whole area.

"Electricity has been brought in. We are pioneering underground electricity for this whole block and it started with this building. So we set the electricity up for future expansion of this block so they can add on to this anything they want from here on in."

The society's goal is to finish the building restorations in the next year. They are currently ahead of schedule.
