MARIANNA, Fla. - After Monday nights commitment ceremony, the Jackson County Commission and the Marianna City Commission met to hear the ideas for developing the west end of Marianna.
The officials of Marianna had a team from the American Planning Association come in to assist in implementing plans to develop the city.
The team arrived Monday and worked all week to interview residents about things they would like to see, things they don't like about the area, and things that could be improved.
The team also studied the demographics and the layout of area to try and determine different possibilities.
Residents of Marianna say they are grateful that the APA came to help.
"They studied each area that we had spoken about and they came up with some nice solutions for it. I think they have done a marvelous job and I applaud them very much," said Willie Mack, Marianna resident.
