Bay Co., Fla. - Sheriff deputies arrest a man reportedly connected with a burglary crime spree in two states.
According to a report, 35 year old William Chandler, of Orange Beach, Alabama, relocated to Bay County after allegedly stealing cars and burglarizing homes from Alabama to Florida.
Yesterday, an off duty Bay County Sheriff's crime analyst, Lindsey Miller, spotted Chandler in the area of Panama City Beach Parkway and Highway 79.
When Chandler saw deputies, he drove a stolen vehicle into a lagoon and swam away. He tried hiding in overgrown grass, but investigators were able to find him. Chandler is now at the Bay County Jail with multiple charges including resisting an officer, fleeing and eluding, grand theft and burglary of an occupied structure, and a non-moving traffic violation.
As the investigation continues, addition charges are to be expected.
