LYNN HAVEN, Fla. - Friday marked the groundbreaking of the Lynn Haven Bayou Park and Preserve. The event kicked off behind deer point elementary school.
City officials said this will be a park for conservation, restoration, education and passive recreation. It will include features such as an outdoor classroom, a fitness loop, and dock access to bay and bayou waters.
City Manager Michael White and Mayor Margo Anderson both shared their excitement for this new attraction
"Most parks are put out there for people to make memories and exercise, and for this one it will be a great place for people to enjoy nature, and for schools to be able to come her and educate the kids on different species of birds and plants," said White.
