Local Ice Cream Business Featured in Two Magazines

Southern Craft Creamery in Marianna has been featured in both Southern Living and Garden and Gun Magazines for their flavorful ice creams.

Dale and Cindy Eade started the business in 2012.

When they business began, they were just selling their ice cream to restaurants and grocery stores in Florida.

Now, they have opened an ice cream store on Jefferson Street in Marianna.

"We kept getting pressure from the local community and from folks traveling through Jackson County to have a place that they could taste, sample and enjoy the products we make," said Dale Eade, Co-Owner.

The special thing about southern craft creamery is that everything is done right here in Jackson County.

"It all starts on our farm. On our dairy farm. So, each morning we start there at about 5 o'clock," said Eade.

After the couple collects the milk from their farm, they bring it to the creamery and begin producing the ice cream.

Southern Craft Creamery offers several different flavors available, most of which use ingredients from local growers.

"We use a non-homogenized milk. Full fat milk, and pasteurize it with other ingredients, cream sugar, and produce ice cream," Eade said.

There are currently only three full time employees, but the Eade's want to make sure that all of the production and deliveries are handled with care.

There will be a grand opening ceremony for Southern Craft Creamery on February 24, from 1-8 PM.
