BASCOM, Fla. - Jackson County authorities said the second child injured in Friday night's shooting died at a hospital Saturday night.
Sheriff's deputies say the investigation is ongoing and they will release new information as it is available.
According to authorities, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a call shortly after 5 PM Friday, reporting a shooting incident at a house north of Malone.
Sheriff deputies and other emergency personnel responded to the residence and found one adult female and one child deceased.
Another child was life flighted from the scene for medical attention.
At this point authorities have not confirmed homicide.
"We're treating it as if it's a homicide because you get one opportunity to look at a crime if it is a crime and we want to make sure that's handled proper," said Sheriff, Louis Roberts
The case is still under investigation at this time.
Medical examiners and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have both been called in.
