MARIANNA, Fla. - The jackson county branch of the NAACP partnered with New Day Mental Health support group to host a mental health symposium in Marianna.
Representatives from mental health facilities across the surrounding counties met at the Christian Center Church to provide community members information on resources for mental health.
The NAACP president hopes to have meetings like this more often.
"Because our community is hurting when it comes to mental health. We have a large group in our population, especially here in jackson county that are wandering the streets and that families are dealing with. And sometimes families just dont know how to deal with it. And so we want to make sure that we get the information out to the community" Ronstance Pittman, Jackson County NAACP President.
