Individuals Involved in Deadly Shooting Make First Appearance

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - A Robbery turned deadly this weekend at a Panama City Beach business. It happened early Sunday morning, at the CVS on highway 98 and Wildwood Road.

16-year-old Jason Price, an Arnold High School student, was shot and killed. Monday afternoon, Rodney Jones and Gertavious Canada, two of the three people said to be involved in the crime, made their first appearances in front of a judge on the charges.

However, the man authorities say actually shot and killed Jason Price did not appear. 21-year-old Demarcus Giddens of Auburn, Alabama, was not there for first appearance due to alleged threats of self harm. He was sent to the medical ward of jail for the day.

The co-defendants Jones and Canada, are charged with felony murder and armed robbery after they allegedly attacked a group of Arnold High school students during a drug deal. Authorities say the victim was shot in the parking lot after trying to help his friend that was being robbed. All three men are being held in the Bay County jail without bond.
