Hole collapses on victim in Panama City Beach

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, a teenager was seriously injured this afternoon.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for service today at 3:32 p.m. in reference to a report of a boy buried in sand in St. Andrews State Park.

Officials found a teenage male trapped in a hole he was digging when they arrived. The victim was pulled from the sand and taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

BCSO is working with Bay County Fire, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Bay County EMS to determine if anyone else may have been buried with him.

The victim's identity has not yet been released. Officials were searching for a second victim but that individual was actually located at a local hotel and had not been buried in the hole. 

BCSO Criminal Investigations in enroute to the scene to investigate. Officials on scene say the victim is in critical condition.
