BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Gulf Power customers may soon see a rate decrease if it is approved by the Florida public service commission.
Gulf Power made the request to pass along $103,000,000 in tax savings to its 460,000 customers. If approved, the average Gulf Power user can expect to see a $14 drop on their monthly electricity bill.
It would be the largest decrease in company history. The savings for customers will continue into 2019 if approved by the PSC. The tax savings are a result of the federal tax reductions under the new tax cuts and jobs act which was signed into law in December.
The lower rates could come as soon as April.
