CALLAWAY, Fla. - A Gulf County man was charged Tuesday with a Sunday night shooting.
On Sunday night at 11:30 p.m. the victim was in his truck at a Beeline on Cherry street when 25-year-old William Vincent Hurd approached the truck and shot at him, Bay County Sheriff's deputies wrote in a news release.
The victim was unhurt and managed to drive away from the area and call 911, deputies wrote. They added that the motive for the shooting is unknown.
After the shooting investigators identified Hurd as the suspect and found a firearm in the woods near Berthe Avenue. Hurd was located Tuesday in Gulf Count and arrested. He is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, and destruction of evidence.
