Living in Florida means we may celebrate the holidays a little differently. Over at Gulf Coast State College Friday, they kicked off the holiday season with a swimming party.
Students with disabilities from Springfield Elementary School were invited for a fun Friday in the pool. The event is put on by the college's counseling center and disability support services.
Gulf Coast student athletes joined the kids in the pool to make sure they were safe and having fun.
"This is just a great program. We thank Gulf Coast for putting this on, they do sponsor it financially and it's just a great holiday experience and when they leave we realize just exactly why we do this every year," said Leigh Bailey, Gulf Coast State College Counselor.
Gulf Coast has been hosting this holiday swim for 23 years.
