PANAMA CITY, Fla. - GKN, a Global Engineering company, is expecting the Venture Crossings facility to bring some major economic impacts to Bay County once it begins operating this Fall.
Sherri Murrish, the Director of Work Transitions for GKN spoke at the Bay County Chamber of Commerce's First Friday event, and shared what economic impacts the company will have on Bay County.
"We're bringing 170 jobs to the area we also are working with the education partners on the long term work force to make sure we have a work force ready for the future."
She also said that there are many qualities that make Bay County the perfect side for the expansion.
""It has a significant aerospace presence here around the Bay County area, and in Florida specifically. There are seven military installations in the area, and we expect that there will be a significant number of clear military personell in the area," she said.
The Aerospace Facility is expected to begin operations in November, and fully operational sometime in 2018.
Murrish could not explicility explain what will be done at the site, since many of GKN's projects are confidential.
"Our customers are very sensitive to providing any additional information but it will be aerospace manufacturing and advanced technologies," she said.
