Bayou George, Fla. - A Freeport student was arrested Friday morning at Bozeman School for having two knives on campus, Bay County Sheriff's deputies wrote in a news release.
Administration at Freeport High School contacted their track team coach after being made aware of a picture posted on Snapchat by one of the team members, deputies wrote. The post caused other students to feel threatened, and administrators to believe the student might have a firearm with him on the campus of Bozeman.
Deputies contacted 16-year-old Daniel Solis who admitted to putting the picture and message on Snapchat, but stated he did not intend to hurt anyone, and that the firearm in the picture was just a BB gun.
Solis also told investigators he had two knives with him in a backpack on the bus, deputies wrote.
Deputies found two knives in Solis' backpack, a large hunting knife and a golden colored switchblade. Solis claimed it was his hunting backpack and he brought it by mistake.
Solis was arrested and charged with two felony counts of possessing a weapon on school property.
