PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The Fourteenth Judicial Circuit is saying goodbye to long-time judge Allen Register. Register is retiring after serving on the circuit bench for 14 years.
Family, friends and co-workers gathered to celebrate today at the Bay County Juvenile Courthouse. Register previously served as county judge in Washington County for ten years as well as assistant state attorney for 13 years before that. He says he is grateful for the support he has received throughout his career. Register says he has some advice for anyone that dreams of serving as a judge.
"The best advice I can give to anyone who ever aspires to be a judge, is to always remember to treat people with respect. Treat them with dignity, treat them as you would want to be treated if you appeared in court."
Register says he doesn't have any big plans after retiring. He says plans on spending time with his eleven grandchildren and also participating in senior judge days.
