PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - FHP Troopers have released more information on the accident that shut down a section of Highway 98 for hours Saturday night.
It happened about 9:00 p.m. near the Camp Helen State Park entrance.
Troopers say a 34-year-old from Fort Walton Beach was driving their motorcycle west bound on 98. They came to a left curve, but traveled off the road to the right and hit a utility pole.
The pole was split in half causing the power lines to block both east and westbound lanes of Highway 98.
Drivers were re-directed and both lanes remained closed into the early hours of the morning.
Troopers say the motorcyclist is in critical condition at Bay Medical. Their identity will not be released until family is notified.
This spread will go with a variety of wines and other foods.
