Florida Residents Can Register to Vote Online Starting Oct. 1st

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Registering to vote will become a lot easier for Bay County residents starting Sunday.

On October 1st, all Florida residents can register online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.

The Florida Department of State rolled out this new option to provide residents with a more secure and easier way to sign-up.

"It's one of the steps to create an additional method to get registered to vote. With ease you can go online and if you've got enough information that is specific to you, as you - that voter will be able to update online instead of being able to fill out a paper application and to perform that task," said Bay Co. Supervisor of Elections, Mark Andersen.

One of the benefits is that voters can change their party affiliation without having to mail it, or fill it out, and submit it in person.

Florida joins 35 other states and the District of Columbia that have online voter registration available to residents.
