Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers Helping Texas

TALLLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida's Fish and Wildlife officers are on the ground taking part in the massive effort to rescue people from the floodwaters created by Hurricane Harvey.

Governor Rick Scott sent the officers in response to Texas’ request for emergency assistance.

Nearly 100 FWC officers and nearly 40 boats deployed to Houston to support ongoing response efforts. This weekend, twenty-five FWC officers, 17 high water vehicles, two Mobile Command Centers, eight shallow draft vessels and four patrol boats arrived in Houston after being deployed Saturday night.
