Driver Charged in Deadly Panama City Crash

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Panama City Police have released the name of a woman killed in a wreck early Tuesday morning at 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 

Police say the accident happened Tuesday around 3 a.m., when Alexandru Trufus of Panama City Beach was driving at a high speed down 15th Street.

Trufus collided with a car at the intersection of MLK Boulevard driven by Tia Williams. 

The impact sent both cars hundreds of feet down the street and blocked traffic for more than 5 hours.

Williams was killed in the crash.

Trufus was sent to the hospital and is charged with vehicular manslaughter.
