PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The 5th annual taste of downtown is this upcoming Saturday.
Vendors all over Harrison Avenue and even some off, will be participating in a walking food and beverage tour through downtown. Downtown Panama City has plenty of spots to eat and drink, but through the "Taste of Downtown" you can experience them like never before.
"A lot of local people don't really realize what's down here so it's a great opportunity to recognize all the great businesses that we have down here and give you and idea of what you can experience year round," said Owner of The Place Downtown, Kim Stiegler.
19 vendors are participating and they're not just the restaurants. Merchants all over Harrison are also joining in on the fun, and providing food dishes and beverage tasting. This Saturday at 5:30 the tour will begin.
"We'd like for you to either start at Tom's Hotdogs or at Millie's Cafe because they're kind of at the ends of each of the route and that way you can pick up your bag and souvenir wine glasses there and turn your ticket in and then you'll just kind of wander down the walking tour," said Stiegler.
However, it's not just a good time full of food and wine, it's a chance to learn more about the businesses downtown.
"I'd love for people to come down and kind of recognize my business and in return, keep coming back and tell their friends," said Owner of Vinny and Bays, Madeline Lovejoy.
The Place Downtown, Mosey's, Vinny and Bay's and more will be serving up unique selections at this year's taste of downtown. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com or at participating vendors. The cost is $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
