Diver Finds Car in Bottom of Chipola River

MARIANNA, Fla. - Thursday afternoon, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office sent out their dive team.

The sheriff's office received a call from a local diver around 2:30 PM, explaining he found a car in the bottom of the Chipola River.

Deputies with the Sheriff's Office responded to the Christoff Ferry Boat Landing.

The dive team and a local wrecker service also responded.

When the 2007 Toyota Rav-4 was pulled from the water, all four windows were down.

Officials with the sheriff's office said the vehicle was reported stolen in 2015.

The case is still under investigation.
