Westville, Fla. - A Holmes County man is in the hospital after a deputy involved shooting.
It started with a domestic disturbance call around two this afternoon. Holmes County Sheriff John Tate says that they were answering a call on Rum Road, and after talking to the victim, they went to talk to the suspect.
Sheriff Tate tells News 13 the man threw a Molotov Cocktail out toward them which started a fire.
The man went back inside, and starting firing gun shots at officers through a window.
Deputies returned fire and ended up striking the suspect, and according to Sheriff Tate, deputies went into the house to rescue the suspect.
He was taken to a hospital in Dothan, and is still in surgery at this hour. The deputy involved is on administrative leave which is routine, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been called in to investigate.
No names have been released tonight.
