Holmes County Sheriff's officials caught a fugitive wanted for attempted murder, according to their Facebook page.
At 12:30 a.m. Monday morning Holmes County deputies were contacted by the Geneva County Sheriffs Office and advised that they located the red Nissan Pathfinder 35-year-old Jeremy Kirkland was driving abandoned off of County Road 4 behind an old building.
They also advised they received a call about Kirkland being at a residence on Ewell Road in Geneva County. When deputies arrived he fled into the woods.
Several deputies and investigators from HCSO as well as Holmes and Walton C.I. K-9 teams responded to the area to assist Geneva County in the manhunt.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. Kirkland was taken into custody.
