A convicted murderer was back in court this week for a re-sentencing hearing
Jose Gonzalez was convicted of first degree murder in 2009, when he was a teenager. Gonzalez was sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing death of Timothy Humphries. The Supreme Court ruled in 2012 that life sentences without the possibility for parole are unconstitutional for juvenile offenders which prompted this re-sentencing.
A final sentence hearing has not yet been scheduled.
