Construction Crews Begin Adding Concrete to Tommy Oliver Stadium

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Construction is underway as crews continue to work on completing the Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City.

On Thursday crews began pouring concrete onto the elevator pit walls and foundation for the stairwells.

Those stairwells will lead to the stadium's press box.

Crews say they will cover thirty yards of this part of construction.

They will continue to pour concrete for the next three to four weeks.

Afterwards they'll start construction on the restrooms.

"The plumbing is in for the women's side restroom. Once that's in we'll pour the slabs and then we can start doing the structure going vertical," said Project Manager J.D. White.

So far crews have spent a month doing site work and additional concrete work for the grand stands.

The Tommy Oliver Stadium is expected to be completed by this time next year.
