COMING SOON to Northwest Florida: Veterans Lodge

DeFuniak Springs, Fla. - A multi-million dollar humanitarian project is one step closer to becoming a reality. Veterans returning to Northwest Florida will soon have a facility, where they will receive top notch care and recovery.

It's the brave men and women of the armed forces that lay their lives on the line day after day and return home with battle wounds. Veterans Lodge will provide veteran's returning to Northwest Florida, a setting to receive transitional assistance, job training, rehabilitation, along with long-term wellness care.

Sitting in the heart of the Panhandle, DeFuniak Springs is in close proximity to military bases, medical facilities and education institutes. Making it the perfect area for the flagship lodge.

State Representative, Brad Drake says this lodge will continue the economic growth for DeFuniak Springs and Walton County.

"It will be a state of the art facility that will allow veterans, those who have experienced post traumatic stress disorder, those who have sustain the injuries in combat. It will give them the opportunity to come and live and develop skills that will allow them to contribute and build things in our community," said Brad Drake, FL State  Representative, District 2 (R).

Officials are in the process of obtaining necessary permits. The 400 acre flagship site will begin clearing the land in early 2018. For more information on the lodge, visit
