CareerSource Gulf Coast Hosts the 10th Annual Homeless Veterans Stand Down

PANAMA CITY, FLA - Several Groups gathered for the annual homeless veterans stand down in Panama City this morning. 

Careersource Gulf Coast parterened with other groups including First Baptist Church off Grace Ave, and invited homeless veterans to attend their 10th annual Stand Down this morning on the First Baptist Church campus.

 Vets were provided with dental work, medical help, social services, a hot lunch, employment and education information, and even haircuts. 

Lee Ellzey from Gulf Coasts Workforce Board was there and stated, "We're proud to host this event every year because of the number of homeless veterans that our in our community.  We are able to organize and bring together businesses, individuals, community service organizations, non-profits that all have something to offer for the individuals that are in need here in our community."

Officials say about 12% of local homeless adults are veterans, so having this event each year really helps out our men and woman who have served our country.
