Car Chase

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - A car chase ends in a fiery crash in Parker and now authorities are searching for the suspect who fled the scene. Springfield Police say they were responding to reports of a stolen vehicle.  Authorities say they tried to stop what they believe was the vehicle. That's when police say the suspect sped off and crashed at Parker Elementary School. The car then caught on fire.  Police say the suspect fled by foot in the area of 9th Plaza and Hickory Street.

Springfield Assistant Police Chief Barry Roberts says the suspect also hit other vehicles during the chase. Roberts told News 13, "while he was trying to get away he did hit some other vehicles, nobody was injured. We have an officer who's already worked those cases that occurred in Springfield."

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, between the age 30 and 40, and is 6-feet tall, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark tank top, and shorts. If you have information on this incident, call your nearest law enforcement agency.
