Boaters rescued off coast of St. George Island

ST. GEORGE ISLAND, Fla. - Two boaters are safe after the U.S. Coast Guard rescued them off the coast of Saint George Island Saturday night.
 
A helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater hoisted a 67-year-old male and a 50-year-old male before their vessel sank. The two men were on a 42-foot pleasure craft that was taking on water about 37 miles southeast of the island.
 
The crew took them to Clearwater where they were met by emergency medical services.
 
Panama City and Mobile Coast Guard crews and Florida Fish and Wildlife officers assisted in the rescue.
