Panama City Beach, Fla. - Kabuki means Japanese theater.
It’s a term Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida embraced with their inaugural fundraiser in Bay County. Six “celebrity” chefs dressed up in costume and cooked hibachi, or tried to, at Osaka Steakhouse in Panama City Beach.
Guests were also encouraged to dress up or have their entire table follow a theme. Among those familiar faces cooking for guests was Vonda Gainer, more commonly referred to as the Qpon Queen, and Flip and Streeter from Kickin’ 103.5.
This is the agency’s first time holding the Kabuki Celebrity Chef Cook Off. After cooking, many chefs busted a move, even had a dance off.
Big Brother Big Sisters of Northwest Florida is a nonprofit organization that pairs adults (Bigs) with children (Littles), to serve as their mentor. The goal is to foster a one on one relationship that has a direct and lasting effect on young people’s lives forever.
