PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Panama City Beach Police have identified the driver accused in Sunday night's hit-and-run.
Officers said a 17-year old boy was walking his bicycle along Middle Beach Road around 7:30 p.m., when he was hit by a silver Toyota Prius.
The teen was taken to Bay Medical Sacred Heart where he remains in critical condition.
Police said Bobby Lee Rodgers, 58, of Wilsonville, Alabama saw a news report on the wreck and called them. Officers located the Prius at the Panama City Beach Resort and Club.
Investigators haven't filed any charges against Rodgers at this time but are interviewing his as part of their investigation.
Panama City Beach Police officers are searching for the driver who hit a 17-year-old man Sunday night on Middle Beach Road, near the The Wicked Wheel.
Officers said shortly before 8 p.m Sunday, the teenager was walking his bike along the side of the road when he was struck by a silver Toyota Prius.
The driver fled the scene shortly after the crash.
Officers said the the man's injuries were severe and he's in critical condition.
