PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - A local non-profit organization received a gift that will help them continue their mission to feed children across bay county.
A $7,000 check was presented to Food 4 Kidz.
The money was raised at this month's Bay Helping Bay event held at Sharky's restaurant on Panama City Beach.
The Food 4 Kidz founders said this $7,000 will go a long way in helping them feed children.
"Of the 28,000 registered students in the Bay District schools, about 8,000 of those are hungry on a daily basis and so we try to reach as many of those as possible. We obviously can't reach them all, but that's our goal is to reach as many of them as possible and our ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of business one day," said Bobbie Brigman, Vice President and Outreach Coordinator, Food 4 Kidz.
This is the second year Bay Helping Bay has held a fundraiser for the Food 4 Kidz organization.
